“There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.”
Can a Website Generate Leads?
Of course, it can! Does a brick and mortar business not have salespeople inside to invite, educate, and close sales? Well, what is your website if not your physical business?
Like storefront window design, your website is a part of your CBD/Wellness business that cannot be placed on the back burner. It is the heart and soul of your business. It is a living breathing portal to everything that you have built your dream upon. So don’t underestimate its power for one minute.
What is Lead Generation?
Lead generation is the process of attracting leads (your potential customers) into a contact management or marketing software system with the hope of nurturing them throughout the buying process to help convince them about your offerings and then convert them into a paying customer.
Your website is where all the breadcrumbs lead to with your social media, articles, downloads, and other marketing efforts. But if I am led to a website that is hard to navigate, stagnate, outdated, and irrelevant to my needs, you just wasted all your marketing money.
“Digital design is like painting, except the paint never dries.” Neville Brody
The Never-ending Process of Digital Design
Websites are built on a structure of design elements that are intended to house all of your products, all of your insights, all of the tools and resources that hopefully your prospects will find useful enough to trust you, and then, buy from you.
Within its design must be SEO elements, APPs, plug-ins, and tools that capture names and emails. From that capture, there must be a system in place to actually place all those names and emails so that you can contact them. That system has automated emails and processes that will save every single business owner countless hours and cashflow. But first, they must know their brand.
Branding Is the Soul of Your Website
Why you? What makes you and your business different than the other 4,832 other businesses that do exactly the same thing?
Can I trust you? Can you solve my problem? Do you care about me?
These are questions that rumble through your prospects’ heads as they tap, tap, tap along the digital highway. The images you use capture humans first. The colors tell us something intuitive about you. The structure of the site MUST be easy, fast, and intuitive. And then, and only then, will people even read what you have to say.
All of that, my friends, is part of your branding. It must be in every element of your website. Subtly, simply.
Design + Technology = Website Success
You cannot have one without the other if you want to generate leads and sales in a digital economy. Your site must wow us, guide us, entertain us, teach us, make us trust you enough to buy once, and then return for new stuff so that we will continue to buy more. It’s all about the repeat sale.
A good website will pay for itself over and over again because it will be easy to update and forever defining the experience of your customers. And that experience determines EVERYTHING. So, don’t think that you can toss that aside. A well-designed website is an experience in itself. [Learn more about customer experience here.]
